Effortless Wavy Hair Routine for Women Over 30
Women with wavy hair know that it can be both a blessing and a curse. Humidity can enhance your waves but also lead to frizz. Dry air makes your waves flat and sometimes lifeless. The right products can give you effortless wavy hair, though. When it comes to wavy hair products, I’m particular. Most of the curly products I’ve tried were too heavy for my waves.
Last year, I decided to embrace my natural hair and wanted some good products that would revive my wave pattern and make doing my hair easier so I can spend less time getting ready. I tried a couple different things that I really liked, but they weren’t cruelty-free. So, when I made the switch to only using and carrying cruelty-free products I had to find new curl products. Now that I’ve had time to try them, I’m excited to share them with you.

Effortless Wavy Hair
1. Verb Curl Shampoo
2. Verb Curl Conditioner
3. Verb Curl Cream
4. Verb Dry Oil
5. Verb Dry Shampoo (for dark hair)
6. Ouidad Curl Shaper
7. Sexy Hair Love Oil
Not all curl products are made for wavy hair. Usually, I like products that are made specifically for waves best. But, I actually have been loving the Verb curl products. Verb is a brand that I’ve been using more and more because it’s cruelty-free and has a more affordable price point without lacking quality. I carry this in the salon, too. So, of course I had to try the curl line and of course, liked it. I’ve been using the shampoo, conditioner, and curl cream all year and have re-purchased each of them.
Refresh Waves
Because wavy hair tends to be dry, I don’t wash mine everyday. Instead, I use dry shampoo and dry oil on the ends before bed. In the morning I work the dry shampoo in and comb through with my fingers. I use the spray and scrunch any pieces that look a little flat. And rub some oil into the ends, with my finger tips, as needed. You can use both the dry oil and the oil/serum or you can just use one depending on your preference.

Freshly washed hair. (I take supplements that help my hair grow so I have a lot of baby hairs that have a mind of their own, ha.)

Refreshed waves (2nd or 3rd day).
Other Tips
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your hair (and skin!) hydrated from the inside out. Add electrolytes to your daily drink lineup. This one is my fave.
- Protect from the Sun: Always use products with UV protection, especially if you color your hair. And don’t forget to use SPF to protect your hair part lines from burning (those hurt). See this blog post for more.
- Baby Hairs/Wispy Pieces: I take supplements that help my hair grow so I have a lot of baby hairs that have a mind of their own. This taming wand helps keep my baby hair in place. It smells phenomenal! I keep it in my purse so I can use it throughout the day. I like this wand, too, if you prefer Ulta.
Here’s to spending less time getting ready and more time feeling like yourself!
